Who we are

Ljudska univerza Velenje is a non-profit education and training provider for young people and adults in Slovenia.

We cover various areas of activities:

Centre for foreign languages providing for the language courses (Slovene, English, German, French, Spanish, Italian ...)
Vocational training and secondary schools: (catering, transport, cookery, sales, administration, economy, childcare, teaching, tourism)
General education: bookkeeping, accounting
Post secondary vocational college: business secretary and sales executive
Workshops: leisure time activities, baking grannies' cakes, preparing cocktails and long drinks, reading activities, obtaining licences for piloting a yacht or sailing boat... and many more

Ljudska univerza Velenje was established in 1959 and has been promoting the idea of life-long learning ever since. During those 45 years, it has gained a reputation for being a leading institution in the field of e-learning. We offer post secondary higher education in the field of office management. We go for new pedagogical approaches and new methodology of teaching.

Our door is open to all learners. More than 580 participants and students enter Ljudska univerza Velenje every day, more than 2200 every school year. A high quality of work is reflected in the high level of their satisfaction.

Ljudska univerza Velenje has 9 full time employees, as well as 105 teachers who co-operate on a free lance or contractual basis.
